About Us
In 2012 Kelvin Reilly started a small motorcycle race team to compete in the Australian Endurance series and hence BCperformance was born. The team never actually raced the endurance championship due to the event being cancelled so the new team competed in the final round of the FX-Superbike Championship at Sydney Motorsport Park with Joel Hughes onboard a single Kawasaki ZX10R. It was immediately a success and has since gone on to be one of the largest and respected teams in the Australian National paddock. Currently the team field riders across the Superbike, Supersport and Ninja 300 categories in the Australasian Superbike Championship and all the bikes including Kawasaki ZX10R’s, ZX6R’s and Ninja 300’s are prepared in-house you can read more about them here.
BCperformance owner and operator Kelvin Reilly has always been fascinated and passionate about motorcycles, especially the performance element of racing. Kelvin was born into a motorcycle racing family, riding his first motorcycle at the age of 6. Kelvin’s mother raced sidecars and scooters for over 10 years and his father raced scooters and motorcycles for over 25 years. Kelvin began his racing career at the age of 10, competing in the British School Boy Motocross championship riding a Honda CR80. At the age of 13, Kelvin built his first motorcycle in his parent’s garage. At 14, Kelvin competed and won his first road race at the Three Sisters Race Circuit in Wigan. He continued his racing career in the British championship for over 17 years winning numerous races, most recently finishing 3rd in the British KTM RC8 Supercup. Kelvin also competed in the European Superstock championship for 3 seasons and at world level in the World Endurance championship for 2 seasons, becoming the youngest rider to complete the Lemans 24 hour race in the year 2000.
Due to his dedication, passion and years of experience in motorcycle racing, Kelvin has developed significant experience and knowledge of motorcycles on and off track. Identifying the need for a performance centre that can cater for all in western Sydney, Kelvin has put together a good team of technicians and staff to carry out service work including the following: Scheduled servicing, Performance upgrades, Dyno tuning, Suspension upgrades and servicing, Race bike preparation, Engine builds, ECU reflashing, Tyres and Ride/Race day support. As well as our own race team project, we also work with riders from novice to professional by providing setup, support or logistics to the track or at the track over a race weekend or practice day, meaning it’s not just Kawasaki’s that we have experience in, many of the other makes have passed through our workshops. High quality parts and accessories is where the business started through its partner company Bikesconnect, we still make and develop our own performance parts using the knowledge we have gained on the race circuit and you can read more about them here.
